Wiederhoeft FW20

Set within the Sunken Living Room at Spring Studios, I wasn’t prepared for the Wiederhoeft Fall/Winter 2020 collection and presentation shown at New York Fashion Week.
I entered a dimly lit room with a ballerina-like model dancing in the center. She was dressed in a beautiful multi-layered, blue, tulle creation with silver sequence adorning her head, arms and calves. Feathery pom-poms dangled from her dress and floated with each graceful movement.
Surrounding her on four corners were groupings of three models each, standing in various poses and dressed in fantastical creations accessorized with delicate head pieces, and full of whimsy. A grouping of black, green, silver, and pale lavender/purple were the color palettes for the season. Each creation had such texture and detail adding depth and intrigue.
Within the “music box” sountrack playing in the background, a “cranking/turning” sound was heard at various intervals and each time, the models would strike a new pose for the audience around them, giving each of us a different perspective to explore and enjoy the creations. This is one event I will not soon forget and I look forward to seeing what the brand brings next season to NYFW.
