A Masterclass in the Elevated Beauty of Muslin: Thom Browne Couture 2024 at Haute Couture Week
On day one of Haute Couture Week we saw the depth and genius of the Thom Browne Couture Women’s and Men’s 2024 collection.
Leave it to Thom Browne to find inspiration in the basic fashion element of muslin and transform it into a couture collection that is simply sublime.
Monochromatic looks in varying weights of muslin and horsehair canvas, each with such depth, artistry and tailoring, paraded onto the runway. One sculptural look after another, 48 in total, emerged with Olympic and sporting motifs, down to the lace-up track heels and boots which replicate a runner’s starting block.
Would we expect anything less from Browne? Certainly not and we’ll never view muslin the same way again.
