Attending the Son Jung Wan runway event at New York Fashion Week has become something I look forward to with each season. Aside from the beautiful creations, there’s always a joyous aspect to her runway and each of her many looks. Designer Son Jung Wan is a master of blending textures, prints and patterns and creating something even more amazing than what she started out with — each creation simply astonishes and amazes.
For Spring/Summer 2019, the Son Jung Wan collection, entitled “Dramatic Move”, highlights glamorous and exaggerated silhouettes with nods to the 70s and 80s and the 40s and 60s. And with a broad color palette including classic black and white, there’s so much visual stimulation coupled with beautiful fabrics, beading and more, yet all combined in a sophisticated manner with a touch of modern, Korean style.
