Sheer Sophistication: Cucculelli Shaheen SS25 at New York Fashion Week

Moody, smoky and dimly lit. This was the setting within Chelsea Industry in New York City, the venue for the Cucculelli Shaheen SS25 – Spring/Summer 2025 – “Hypnos” collection #18. Unveiled on the final day of New York Fashion Week, September 11, 2024, the 42-look collection spanned a color palette of rich black to a progression of silvery and bronze metallics, pastels, and floral prints, to finale looks in virginal white, perfect for a bride-to-be.
Woven throughout the collection, and what this editor has come to love, are the intricate, painstaking and strategically placed embellishments and beading that add exquisite details and interest to each look — taking them to another dimension in beauty, but never to the point of excess. The result is refined simplicity from a distance, but exquisite detailing up close. Despite the majority of the looks being created in monochromatic hues, one still finds so much depth and interest within each look — simply sublime.
Gilded feathers are the predominant accessory seen throughout the collection in the form of striking, halo head pieces as well as seasonally fitting floral earrings when paired with coordinating floral print looks.
The design duo of Cucculelli Shaheen remains a favorite for this editor and once again delivered sheer sophistication in a collection which infuses a global design perspective in American, modern evening wear with just the right amount of sexiness.
