While I normally hop on the Tube as I run from show to show, this location called for an Uber since a Tube stop was no were close to be found. I made it in plenty of time and after confirming that it was the right show, I quickly hopped in the line. After a few moments in line, I suddenly wondered why I was only surrounded by tall, thin, young men who looked like models. A few had some extreme makeup on, but being in London, I didn’t think much of it since nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to street style. Before I could analyze the moment further, the line started to move and as I entered the doorway, I suddenly realized that I was in line with the models who were about to walk the show. Not sure why they were all standing outside and how I managed to get in the line (and why no one tried to stop me), but I eventually hopped out and made my way to the proper line with all the non-models attending the event. End of Story.
For the Autumn/Winter 2019 collection by designer Xander Zhou, the inspiration came from a forward-thinking vision of intergalactic inclusion and harmony — a message often forgotten within our own species in this day and age. It was a collection that incorporated augmented tech and mechanics blended with polo tees, jacquard knits, rugby pullovers, lab coats and jackets made from cotton, nylon, PVC, canvas, fleece and leather. As the collection progressed, alien styling became even more evident and rather than describing it, see it walk the runway in our video below.
