Costelloe designs for the distinctive woman who loves style, while focusing on tailored silhouettes and rich, textured fabrics and tones. This AW19, Costelloe curated a collection fit for fans of tailoring and who would appreciate the strong references to military uniforms.
The military references included rich color and were suggestive of the Tsars and the homecoming — an escape from the viciousness of war. Costelloe sent a strong message that women also played their role during times of war and the resulting collection consisted of coats made in pure Italian wool, floral fabrics and woven prints creating an opulent look. Details included ruffles, shoulder curved bell sleeves, flat pleats, fish hemlines and the season’s trend of oversized bows.
The collection also included an opulent mill-engineered, velvet corduroy slimline jumpsuit, autumnal shades of gold and claret, pencil skirts worn with oversized Aran knitwear, patterned woven day dresses and aristocratic-inspired floor-sweeping gowns with sweetheart necklines and buckled straps fit for any military princess. Accessories such as the yellow-gold jewelry toned down the military aspect and added a touch of regal elegance and status. Costelloe also included substantial leather pieces to reinforce the military feel and they ranged from crossovers, satchels and belt bags with brass details.
