Upon seeing that collection, we were instantly hooked. So for this year’s LFW AW16 collection, we were anticipating more design greatness and Omer did not disappoint. With clean, architectural lines in black and white and with the intertwining of femininity and masculinity — not to mention the occasional unexpected piece of material thrown into the modern mix — we can’t wait to see what he’ll have in store for next season.
Contributing Style Editor Mabel Gago had the opportunity to attend the presentation and here’s what she had to say:
“Sudanese-born Omer Asim is a pure soul in terms of creativity. He enjoys playing with the elements of Nature.
His simplicity transports his collections to another level.
For Omer, everything is black and white. He doesn’t need to play with colors. As he admits, he loves to play with materials and learn how to manage them until he creates the piece.
There is a simplicity in the line and shape of each piece, but at the end of the game, the result is a fierce design suitable for a warrior soul in a feminine body.”
