Each collection has always been warm and inviting; the pieces and the looks envelop you in a comforting way so that you’re prepared for the season; beautiful textures and colors are always incorporated to modernize each look while retaining classic style and functionality — the Autumn/Winter 2019 (AW19) collection did not disappoint.
Johnstons of Elgin is the “master in cashmere and textiles” with a history that dates back to the late 18th century. The bar has always been high and we anxiously look forward to each season. For AW19, a total of 30 looks were beautifully crafted in Scotland for both women and men. Creative Director Alan Scott was inspired by the 1920s and 1930s and the history of the brand dating back to 1797. Fabrics consisted of double-face matte cashmere, merino lightweights and cashmere velour on looks that ranged from a palazzo trouser, jumpsuit and maxi-dress. In addition to the craftsmanship, state-of-the-art technology such as 360 digital printing was utilized to create the knitwear.
According to Scott, “Johnstons of Elgin has retained its reputation for quality, artistry, innovation and design for over two centuries. These pillars are the very heart of what we do on a day to day basis and are demonstrated year-round.” This latest collection definitely is proof of that.
