Our work is here to support, encourage and inspire.” Behind this inspiring sentence, it seems as if Fyodor Golan has captured the true essence of being a designer. And this realization has delighted us with an extremely rich collection in looks, shapes, fabrics and prints — everything to fulfill the need of today’s modern woman and her daily routine.
Fyodor Golan’s escapade has revealed the relevance of water. Everything in life comes from water. So as part of sustainability and a #positivefashion vision, for this designer it’s about “Being inspired by the oceans, we could not avoid the topic of plastic waste. We’ve teamed up with the charity Plastic Oceans UK who have helped us collect abandoned fishing nets that are forming one of the largest dangers to marine life”. Overall, it’s about creating something friendly for the environment.
For the Spring/Summer 2019 collection at London Fashion Week, we find a retrospective of the designer’s life in the form of icons: disco, tv series, video games, colours, sequins, sports, and yes, even Sonic The Hedgehog greeted us — thanks SEGA! It offered a combination of colours among pailettes, printed silk, recycled cotton, hand crochet dresses, mini globe skirts, wide pants and oversize jackets. The sporty chic has a relevant role within the collection -– it is sexy and adaptable to our roles.
Men were also included in this collection. And yes, the Fyodor Golan man wears crochet, sequins and printed shirts. Men’s shoes were provided by the timeless Dr Martens.
Special mention to the incredible porn heels shown during the catwalk at the BFC Space — knee high boots and shoe boots, probably a wink to the iconic Carrie Bradshaw.
