The Dramatic Joan of Arc Entrance at the Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony
While the performances of global superstars Lady Gaga and Celine Dion were all the talk during and after the Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony, the arrival of the Olympic flag carried by “Joan of Arc” was one of the most dramatic moments of the ceremony, and quite possibly of any modern Olympic Games.
A mysterious, hooded “Joan of Arc” galloped on a silver, metal horse down the River Seine — a sight to behold. “Joan of Arc” eventually emerged at the opening ceremony stadium at the Trocadero carrying the Olympic flag and marched toward the stage for the hoisting of the flag.
The costume was created by French designer Jeanne Friot and the XXL Silver Banded Boots was a collaboration between Friot and BOTH Paris. BOTH Paris had previously collaborated with Friot on two shoe models for the upcoming Jeanne Friot Fall/Winter 2024 collection.
