Discover the Issey Miyake Spring/Summer 2024 “Grasping the Formless” collection unveiled at Paris Fashion Week in September 2023.
The latest collection is inspired by the elements of nature such as wind and light and incorporates the shapeless inspiration into fluid clothing that also exudes an unexpected organic, yet architectural essence.
Within the collection are sub-themes as follows:
- Ambiguous: a knit series that reveals the forms of the body
- Twining: a woven series inspired by a flag fluttering in the sky
- Light Leak: a print series featuring blurred forms of gradients
- Enveloping: a woven series created by twisting and fastening a tubular structure made out of one piece of fabric
- Fixed in Time: a series of pressed fabric inspired by the idea of capturing something in motion
- Twisted: a woven series created by twisting a piece of fabric as if naturally formed over the body
Also of note for the collection is a collaboration with New Balance resulting in the creation of the New Balance MT100 model based on the concept of barefoot mobility and lightweight nature.
