Designer: Fyodor Golan
Runway Venue: Brewer Street Car Park, Soho in London
The Collection: One never knows where inspiration will come from, this time, from the archives of the iconic brand, Transformers. Fyodor Golan gained access to never before released artwork from the 80s and as a result, created a bold, futuristic yet retro collection that embodied the essence of the brand.
Contrary to the harshness often associated with the metallic Transformers, the collection was soft, extremely playful and conveyed the necessary metallic feel through fabric selection and the angles and cuts in the pieces. Each design was topped off with hair & makeup, accessories and shoes that completed the Transformer’s essence giving the overall collection an anime essence. In the end, I was waiting to see if each piece would transform into something else and serve a dual purpose. Maybe next season.
