Baker brand and the Spring/Summer 2021 menswear collection shown during Day 2 of Paris Fashion Week. The film created for the online event features the grandfather of designer Reid Baker, and was more of a home movie that was genuine and heartfelt — one of the most captivating fashion films that this editor has seen. It’s a story of life lessons passed from one generation to another, reflections of life including the good and bad, and hopefully new generations learning from these life lessons.
For the tailored collection presented, it’s a clear retro nod to a time of more sophisticated and formal dressing, but with clear modern influences that shatter conventional looks. There’s a mix of textures in an overall subdued, earthy palette with red accents, the brand monogram, and check prints for added interest.
