Designer: Danielle Romeril
Presentation Venue: Institute of Contemporary Arts, The Mall, London
The Collection: On day three of London Fashion Week, the VRAI Magazine Style Team headed over to the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) at the Mall. Compared to Soho, there was a completely different vibe in this area of London. Past Piccadilly Circus, we emerged onto a grand boulevard that led us to a park-like setting and the location for this presentation. We had entered a museum, although minutes earlier, we had narrowly escaped being trampled over by a flash mob, but that’s a different story and for another time.
Upon entering the ICA, we were hit with a tropical force, literally. It was hot and humid as if we had just ventured into South East Asia during the height of the summer season. It may have been planned to enhance the tropically-inspired collection created by Danielle Romeril. Themed with shades of green, black and a blush of pink, there was a blending of organic images and texture with structured silhouettes.
