Discover the natural beauty of the Collina Strada Spring/Summer 2023 “God Milkweed?” collection unveiled at New York Fashion Week. Presented at the Brooklyn Greenway, a former cemetery turned monarch butterfly preserve, models fluttered through the winding runway framed by lush foliage. Presented by a diverse and inclusive range of models, the collection is representative of the various stages of a butterfly’s lifecycle and created from materials ranging from deadstock denim and satin, organza, and acrylic scraps repurposed into knitwear. The result is an organically created, gender-freeing, playful and colorful collection with unique silhouettes and a distinctive point of view.
Collaborations of note for the season include Vitelli’s upcycled cotton-acrylic scraps turned into new knitwear, Melissa Shoes sandals and boots made with cane sugar “plastic” see now buy now!, Unspun Denim jeans that use 3-D printing for zero-waste and custom fit pieces in all sizes, and Viron boots made with apple leather and upcycled rubber.
Also for this show, the brand created five garments together with the multinational AI company Heartdub and transferred them into five digital twins, presented in a short video on Heartdub customized for Collina Strada.
