The Collection: One of the most recognized British designers is Christopher Raeburn — a visionary, lover of innovation and also a leader in sustainable fashion. Christopher has applied his talents for men’s and women’s fashions as well as accessories and his collections have always shown fabulous and exquisite details, going beyond the visual aesthetic and reaching amazing functionality.
Needless to say, Christopher Raeburn’s shows have reached a high level of expectation within the market and the worldwide fashion industry. Suzie Menkes was one of the first in arriving at the BFC Space, along with celebrities, models, actors…
The VRAI Magazine Style Team had the pleasure of attending this show. A strong compass, drums, announced the arrival of the adventurer woman. For LFW SS16, Christopher Raeburn presented his collection entitled SARAWAK: a universe where the modern woman faces her challenges. Christopher found the inspiration in the wilderness of Borneo and in imagery of female explorers.
A dynamic woman of adventure who faces risks and pursues her dreams needs the SARAWAK collection by Christopher Raeburn: some in the style of military and utilitarian outfits bathed with innovative fabrics (parachute) and colors aligned with the wildness of the environment. There was a play of structured pieces: skirts, mesh inserts, tops and amazing outwear with timeless long coats. Sometimes the collection played with the genre of unisex design, but embraced the feminity of the entrepreneur woman and her need for functionality and identity.
I also have to mention that this collection has been the first time Christopher Raeburn takes his inspiration into footwear. For this new challenge, the synergy appears in the collaboration with Clarks Shoes. Special mention: Christopher Raeburn has once again collaborated with Avery Dennison RBIS to deliver another dimension to sustainable fashion.
