On day three of New York Fashion Week (NYFW), we sat down with fashion designer Allina Liu during an intimate event to learn about the brand, her creative process, and the unexpected inspiration for the FW25 collection. We also reminisced about the latest SS25 collection unveiled during a memorable presentation at NYFW last September 2024.

On the surface, we find a collection filled with relaxed femininity and sweet details ranging from delicate bows, smocking, ruffles and lacings. Grounded in black and accented with moments of pink, pale blue and olive green, there’s an ease in the collection, a comforting and relaxed sensibility appropriate for lounging at home or everyday living.
There’s also a sense of nostalgia in certain silhouettes created by puffed sleeves, harkening back to more simple times and eras gone by.
But beyond the surface, there’s a surprising and darker element to the collection inspiration as shared by Liu during our interview (see video above). These looks are more sleek and revealing, daring one to bare some skin, complete with lacing.
Regardless, what Liu has created is a women’s collection for every woman seeking a softer side to her wardrobe while quietly exuding moments of bold sensuality. It’s ok, the secret is safe with us.
