With all of New York shut down, Design Director Margo Lafontaine and Chief Creative Officer Sarah Swann pegged creative partners—real-life married couples isolated together—to orchestrate beautiful and out-of-the-box collection imagery. Models/multi-hyphenates Angela and Asio Highsmith and Broadway star Laura Osnes and photographer Nathan Johnson were sent pieces from the Nouvelle Amsale and Little White Dress collections and were tasked with putting their own personal and creative spin on intimate wedding-moment imagery.
“Broadway is shut down, projects are on hold; livelihoods are being impacted by this,” Lafontaine said. “We wanted to show support for others in creative industries.” The resulting images—shot in a light-filled Brooklyn brownstone by the Highsmiths, and a lakeside home in Connecticut by Osnes and Johnson—embody the intimacy of couples on their wedding day and showcase the collections in a unique way. They are authentic to each couple and their personal love story—and proof that love endures through all.
AMSALE offers virtual appointments and a broader use of its virtual try-on feature, which rolled out earlier this year and allows brides- and bridesmaids-to-be to see what a dress looks like on by uploading their own photos.
Nouvelle Amsale Spring 2021
“This season the Nouvelle Amsale collection offers timeless designs for modern brides,” Lafontaine said. “Inspired by the confident bride, these gowns are designed to make a statement.” Each piece in the collection has one standout focal point, from the origami-inspired bow at the back of an architectural Mikado ballgown, to the surprising sheer embroidered back of a stretch crepe sheath. Garden-inspired twists give the gowns a feminine feel: sensual fluid satin, bold graphic florals and romantic floaty tulle. “The collection feels fresh and light,” Lafontaine said.
Little White Dress Spring 2021
The ever-evolving Little White Dress collection features new silhouettes in familiar fabrics, such as AMSALE’s signature Faille. An architectural dress with a high neck and tea-length box-pleated skirt is ideal for smaller ceremonies, while an off-the-shoulder Mikado shift begs to be danced in at the afterparty. The design team also introduced Duchess satin this season, rendering a strapless wide-leg jumpsuit and clean sheath dress in the lustrous fabric. Little White Dress offers something for everyone at a more accessible price point.
Amsale Bridesmaids and Amsale Evening
With Bridesmaids, AMSALE introduces four unique styles that pair a new fluid satin with its signature matte crepe for a two-toned look that photographs flawlessly. Amsale Evening features pieces ideal for special occasions or mother-of-the-bride, like a sequined V-neck column gown and strapless Faille frock with a removable train. “It is striking, refined wedding wear—signature AMSALE looks brought to life in stunning color,” Lafontaine said.
