In an effort to support the designers and their brands, VRAI Magazine is pleased to be able to share this collection with each of you.
Inspired by the 1988 film, “Akira,” the Angel Chen Fall/Winter 2020 collection unveiled at Shanghai Fashion Week exudes a truly modern vibe. Created in a primary color palette with silvery accents and grounded in black, the men’s and women’s collection consists of sleek and streamlined silhouettes, to exaggerated, enveloping and textured pieces which push the futuristic and sci-fi vibe of the overall collection. New for the season is the introduction of men’s suiting which adds to the maturity and evolution of the brand.
Also of note, according to show notes, is the use of Italian fabric from long-term partner, Bonotto, that consists of 50 percent materials repurposed from recycled plastic bottles. Also utilized in the collection are Swarovski upcycled crystals and eco-friendly furs to support the brand’s sustainable positioning.
In addition to the forward-thinking style of the collection, the use of pleating in several looks added an understated drama that caught this editor’s eye.
