French fashion designer Stephane Rolland took inspiration from historical masterpieces and the creative geniuses behind them to skillfully create his Spring/Summer 2017 couture collection. Upon laying eyes on the collection, the words “Sculptural Artistry” immediately sprung into our minds.
But beyond the artistic nods and historical references, many of the pieces reminded us of giant florals blossoming at exactly the right moment to accentuate the beauty of the woman fortunate enough to be enveloped by each creation. From the curvature of calla lilies, to delicate orchids, to the fleeting beauty of morning glories and the eternal grace of rose petals — the combination of sculpture and floral references elevated each piece, worthy to stand upon a pedestal within a prized art collection.
