To express this, the collection explores tensions between romance and toughness to reinvestigate Coach heritage. I liked the idea of creating a nostalgic world somewhere in America seen through a widescreen lens, mixing the energy of today with the nostalgia for pop culture that has always inspired me.”[/x_blockquote]
The golden hour, American neighborhoods, optimism and nostalgia are at the heart of Stuart Vever’s latest Coach collection unveiled in front of a star-studded audience inside Basketball City in NY’s Lower East Side.
The Fall/Winter 2022 collection was unveiled to an audience that included Megan Thee Stallion; Wisdom Kaye; Noah Beck; Tommy Dorfman; Rina Sawayama; Rickey Thompson; Angus Cloud; Amrit Kaur; Alyah Chanelle Scott; Reneé Rapp; Gavin Leatherwood; Kelvin Harrison Jr.; Quincy Brown; Elsa Majimbo; Ava Max; Charles Melton; Bob the Drag Queen; Japanese Breakfast; Jasmin Savoy Brown; Ella Purnell; SG Lewis; Quen Blackwell; Aquaria; Beaujangless; Ty Sutherland; Linux; Hari Nef; Richie Shazam; Bryanboy; Elsa Hosk; Xenia Adonts; Tina Leung; Amy Lefevre; Justine Mae Biticon; Lindsay Vrckovnik; Taylor LaShae; Young Emperors; Mia Regan; Kemio; Michi Shimizu; as well as key editors, stylists, and global influencers.
While many elements of the collection harkened back to bygone eras of the 70s (lace and crocheted dresses to leather vests) and the 90s (grunge), reimagined shearling outerwear, as well as the overall collection evoked a forward-looking perspective to better and brighter times ahead. Beautiful touches of neon accents as well as select pieces created in collaboration with graffiti artists Mint&Serf added just the right touch of vibrancy, hope and youthful spirit.
