In celebration of the brand’s 10th anniversary, designer Hanako Maeda looks back to childhood memories, her days as a student in New York, and her debut collection at New York Fashion Week. For Fall/Winter 2022 (FW22), the anniversary collection blends dark academia and fairy tale aesthetics, perfectly presented in a fashion film with a tree lined runway covered in a forest leaves. A neutral color palette is accentuated with beautiful tailoring, convertible outerwear that provides multi-functionality in styling, deconstruction, and soft quilting that adds beautiful texture an dimension. We find a blending of Japanese crepe and satin for the fairy tale looks with more structured plaid suiting and deconstruction techniques along with chunky knitwear for the more academic-inspired looks. Beautiful craftsmanship and innovative style touches throughout every look make this truly a collection worthy of a 10-year milestone.
Also unveiled for the FW22 season is the ADEAM Ichi collection which takes inspiration from the skateboarding culture. Tailoring is once again present, but softer and more relaxed, gender-neutral silhouettes allow for greater movement. Olive-green takes center-stage in the neutral color palette for a collection which once again presents multi-functionality and creativity for true expression of a more youthful style.
